Halloween in Hershey

Halloween is held the Thursday before the 31st in our township. Im not exactly why, there are many explanations. But, the event went on as usual. Mike and the boys carved pumpkins while I was gone. It was nice to not have to clean up pumpkin guts.
Wednesday we went to the Hershey Parade. The kids get too much candy from the parade. Its sponsored by the Chocolate Factory, so you guessed it, tons of chocolate. Which isnt all bad, except its overwhelming for my kids. We usually add some of it to our giveaway bucket to trick or treaters. The kids have too much after they come home anyway. It was freezing cold at the parade, but we had a good time.
The next evening was Trick or Treating. The boys all were Skeletons this year. Zach saw the Pajamas at Gymboree earlier in the fall. He wanted them. I thought "SURE, DUAL PURPOSE PJ'S & COSTUMES?! WHY NOT!". So, Asher followed suit as a skeleton. I was so torn, I have two costumes for every age group from newborn to 4T. I thought about putting him back in my favorite TOM ARMA cow costume, but he stayed home with me to answer the door, so I figured he didnt need to be in a hot costume. I was a black Cat and daddy was well...daddy. No dressing up this year, well, maybe he was a super model, he always looks like one to me!
So, we had a great night! Now its off to the grandparents to scare up some fun over there!

Each of the boys carved a pumpkin. Tanner wanted a mean one. Zach wanted a nice one.

Hershey Halloween parade with the Poulsons. I stole this pic from Jenny. Thanks!

Scary Asher

Zach didnt want to be in the picture. Did I mention that 3 yrs old in the worst age!

Utah and a Wedding

I just got home from Maleah's wedding in Utah. The trip was too short, but I enjoyed it. I needed to come home and rescue Mike who had been watching the twins while I was gone. It was different only traveling with one child. Asher was an angel and didnt cry at all on either flight. I am so spoiled with him!
I am totally disgusted with Southwest Airlines for their baby policy. I nearly missed my flight because I didn't have Asher's birth certificate. Clearly, he is not close to 2 years old. They have a policy that requires proof of age for infants. RIDICULOUS! They told me to call the pediatrician or hospital he was born at to verify his age. Im sure the dr on call that had to call the airport wasn't happy with me for taking him away from otherwise important matters at 7 in the morning. But, in the end, with minutes to spare, I was allowed on the plane. Thanks anonymous dr for calling back! They were not going to budge on that rule.
Anyway, I didn't have my camera through some of the events, but the wedding was lovely. They had a whole cultural presentation by Christopher's Hawaiian side of the family. The men dancing the Huka was awesome! We are proud and excited for Maleah! It was a great day. Did I mention I ate at Cafe Rio twice in 3 days? YUMMY! It was also fabulous to see my cousins who I have been far away from me for some time. Love ya Sydney, Tait, Liz, Hannah & Denae. I didnt get to visit with lots of people that I wanted to. Things got a little crazy and Im not great with time management, but my love to all of you that I may not have spent much time with. Until we meet again! -xoxoxo

Cutie Pie

I couldnt resist taking some pictures of Asher. He had just spit his squash dinner all over his clothes, so he was perfectly chubby playing with daddy.

Does this diaper make me look fat?

I love these rolls!

I just ate squash, now I'll squash daddy in a not so comfy place

CHEESE...that reminds me, Im hungry again!

An Apple a Day

Its that time of year. Apple and Pumpkin picking! We headed out to our favorite orchard for some fun with our great friends the Poulson's.We always have so much fun with them. I felt bad that I got us lost on the way. Some nice, but almost overly friendly guy, offered to lead us to the orchard. I kept thinking, "I bet this guy is going to lead us to his cabin in the mountains and kill us". Where is my faith in nice people?...I've seen too many movies. Darn you Oprah, filling my brain with "Dont ever let anyone take you to a second location". Thats all I could think about.
Anyway,Heres some pictures of the day. Unfortunately I didnt get pictures of dinner. It was interesting having a KID table with the 3 year olds, and another table with the two babies and adults. Lets just say that Texas Roadhouse needs to rethink their fire hazard rules for seating. Next time they may have customers rioting if they are sat near us. Zach and Tanner were bouncing off the walls. Maybe its all that cinnamon-sugar butter on their delicious rolls!

"Yummy apples.Help me daddy"

Zach loves apples off the tree

Baby Asher helped too!

This is my FAVORITE picture. The guys were desperate for golden delicious apples, which were more or less gone, except on the tops of the trees. Nate is 6'4 and Mike is 6'3, this was a funny and very tall accomplishment. This picture doesnt do the real life situation justice. If you want to see some video, head to the Poulsons link to the right for some live footage!

Oh Nate, there's your eyes...peek-a-boo!

The boys with their pumpkins

Tanner on the tractor ride

The slide made from silo tubing

"Whee!!! I love this swide mom"-Tanner

This was a whole shed filled with feed corn kernals for the kids to play in

Zach had a hard time leaving this part of the orchard. He loved digging in the corn.

Sometimes screw ups are funny

The boys are doing really well in Speech class. However; I still laugh everytime Zach wants to read this book. He says "Mom, will you read A CRAP IN THE TRAP?".
"Yes Zach, I love A CRAP IN THE TRAP!"

Washington DC

We postponed our anniversary celebration for one week, so that we could go to Washington DC for the day. Grandma and Grandpa Chamberlain came and watched the boys for us while we drove down to the metro and hopped on a train. It was so much fun. It was nice to be kid free for a while, but after the first couple hours I began to miss Asher really bad, if you catch my drift (I am still nursing him). The National Archives were neat, I could have spent all day there. There is lots to do that we need to go back for. We didnt get to the Smithsonian, but its on my list for next time! And I MUST go to the international spy museum. I need some of those shoes with guns in the toes, and a watch with a communicator in it!- Do you think they have the bras from Austin Powers in there, ya know, the ones with "machine gun chi-chi's"?

ANYWAY..it was great to spend the day with my HOT hubby. Please ignore the facial hair on Mike, he is going through a phase. And NO we didnt plan matching shirts, I just love my green shirt becuase it hides the throw up I always have on my shoulder!

The white house and Mikey, working his gas can sun glasses. This picture is a little "Men in Black", dont you think?

Ford Theater is closed for remodeling until feb 2009. Bummer!

Sculpture Garden.Mike thinking "This piece of junk is considered art?"

Kissing at the Washington Monument

Mike wanted to kill me for making him do this. Washington Monument

Kristen, this picture is for you...notice my arm!

Lincoln Memorial.Definitely my favorite spot!

The picture is self explanatory

Dinner was delicious ,but 75 dollars for 2 people is OUTRAGEOUS! Do you want my first born child too, for the cost of this meal?
