Spooky dinner

Saturday night I decided to scare up our taco salads. I was making corn torilla strips for the topping, and it occured to me that they look like bandages on a mummy. So, without getting too crazy, we dressed our salads up. Heres one before the olives, salsa and sour cream. It gives you the idea.Try it, its lots of fun. My boys loved it when they saw a mummy's head!

7 years of bliss!

It was 7 years ago today, that Mike and I were married. I feel so blessed to have married my best friend and wonderful husband. Mike has definitely had his work cut out for him, Im not the easiest person to be married to. He has always been the sweet, caring and good humored man I met the summer of 2001. Even through grad school, infertility, 3 miraculous and sometimes crazy kids, and thousands of miles from Utah...he has been amazing and loving.
Mike is a wonderful father. He loves his children and works endlessly to make sure their needs are met. He is a great listener and loves me unconditionally, even with all my weakness and imperfections. He tries hard to follow the Savior and he has such great faith in the Lord.
I am extremely lucky to have you in my life "BEEBOO". I love you with all that I am, and all I hope to become, with you by my side. Happy Anniversary Lovie! Heres to many more!

(I dont have any pictures of our wedding on this new computer, so this is the best I could do.)

Any takers?

So, Id like to start by saying this is a vent. I did not take pictures. I was too ticked. I came downstairs today, after putting Asher down, to find Zachary covered in something purple. It was on his mouth and all over his hands and shirt. Upon further investigation and a conversation, I nearly passed out when I saw what had happened in the basement.
ME: "Zach whats on your hands and face?"
Zach:" Strawberries!"
ME: We don't have strawberries.Oh my gosh, do you mean the blackberries?"
Where are they Zach?"
Zach: "All gone mom. They are in my tummy...and the floor."
ME: "What floor?"
Zach: "Down-Down"
I ran to the basement, where my newly cleaned carpet (just steam cleaned them 2 days ago) was covered in three very large piles of crushed blackberries.
After 30 min of scrubbing and lots of Resolve carpet cleaner, the carpet was saved.
However, my child is for sale...
Any takers?
This is of course just my way of saying I was mad. But, after all...it is only carpet. Zachary is definitely a handful. Sometimes nice, sometimes naughty, but never boring.

Busy week

Our life of summer travel is done. We are finally reajusted to eastern time again. And of course, just when I think its time to do nothing. Life gets busy again.
Wondering what this week was like? Lets see, I was in the middle of project mania. Bottling pears was priority since my food storage is building, 5 people to eat for even a week, let alone one month is a ton of food.
I also was trying to come up with a project for the ladies to do with some vinyl at our wards Super Saturday coming up. Tell me what you think. Would this project bore you to tears? They will be wired together to hang horizontially under eachother and then have a piece to hang them ontop. Is this too novice?

Then it was off to my own wonderful projects, making bitty botties for Asher. I did a rough draft pair, since I had never made them before. I tried hand stitching and machine sewing. They arent great, but ultimately, I think I will hand stitch them when I make a final pair. These arent the final pair but here is a glimpse of the general idea. You can go to heather baileys website for a pattern. I am going to add a dog bone to the heel of each, once I make the REAL pair. They should be cute. These practice ones arent great.

I also had to take 3 dozen cookies to Enrichment last night. Lets just say I got side tracked and burned most of them. So, it was off to COSTCO for their yummy cookies instead.
The boys also started going speech at the preschool this week. So, we were busy! OH well, life goes on. I keep thinking as the boys grow, life will get easier, but I am finding out that is simply not the case. Life just gets more curves. But heck...I am glad for them. Otherwise I would be bored and lonely.

Asher first

At Ashers 4 month appt he weighed in at a hefty 18.2 lbs! Wow, this kid is huge. He is also in the 97 percentile for height. I love this boy! The pediatrician told me to try giving him some rice cereal at night before he sleeps (not in a bottle) to see if he would sleep longer. He is still up 3 times a night. No wonder he is huge, he eats 24 hrs a day! He loved the rice cereal. Here are some pics of this first.

Labor Day in DC

This year for Labor Day we decided to go with my family to the National Zoo in Washington DC. Here are a few of the pictures.Have I mentioned yet that Asher always has a blowout on every trip we take? Its just expected now and I am prepared, but geez...give a girl a break! Especially on hot days when the smell is increased 10 fold. It was really humid and 91 degrees in DC. Thus the reason for all the red faces. My favorite was the pygmy hippo. He was so cute and tiny . I missed taking pics in the reptile house, Zach loved it in there. Tanner loved the elephants and monkeys.Zach also made sure to point out the gorillas and elephant private parts, LOUDLY! Gee Wiz kid!
I missed a few things because I was trying to find somewhere to nurse Asher, this was interesting at the zoo. I noticed tons of ladies, uncovered just nursing on benches. Do they think no one will mind if they hang it out in the zoo? I really considered nursing in with the gorillas, then no one would look at me funny. But, it smelled like poop in there, so never mind. I smelled too much poop as it was. ANyway...it was fun, and as you can tell from my ranting. "POOP" was the word of the day! Lunch at Guapos was the cherry on top of a great time. Thanks to all!

Tanner looking nervous: Is this Panda going to eat me?

Zach, not wanting to take pictures. see ya Panda!

Cute panda, there are only about 1500 in the wild.

Tanner and the pygmy hippo

See how tiny this breed of hippo is. So cute!

I love the pygmy hippo. Its eyes are not on top of its head like other hippos. And its not as aquatic, although it does swim. Darling!

Zach: "That enafan is sick, he had no pink."
me:"No sweetie, elphants arent really pink, thats just a song."
